The leave of his girl friend makes Alan feel deperate. Even worse, his friend set him up to force him marrying a girl that he doesn't love. Later, he meets Shiako and starts courting her. Shiako's father reject Alan, believing that what Alan really wants is his wealth. Alan shows his sincerity by accepting the fight in Japanese swords with Shiako's father. But he loses, Shiako is deeply impressed.
